Roman Krznaric - The Six Habits of Highly Empathic People
Wildly interesting presentation on the uses of empathy as praxis for progressive change. Especially how, at the end, he differentiates between voyeuristic empathy (using the example of solvent people visiting a shanty town and not getting out of the car) versus experiential empathy (not universalizing the way you feel feelings and sort of building a vocabulary of feeling through experience).

Shit people say to sick and disabled queers,
And shit sick and disabled queers say (to each other, to other people, to themselves)
And repeat! This is fantastic and funny and exactly right and full of great people (and my hero Leah Lakshmi). And I say this as someone who took her antidepressants and anti-inflammatories and fibro meds this morning and is on her way out for therapy.
this is so good and SO ACCURATE.

withaposterofagirl asked: question #3: i don't have a third question. i only care about making out with you right now apparently. but i felt obligated to send a third ask. BYE. - yr gf
I have the best girlfriend, y’all.
withaposterofagirl asked: question #1: why are you not here to make out with me right now?
That’s a really good question! We should always be making out, all the time, every day, every single hour. The only reasons we wouldn’t be are the following:
1) Satan
That’s it. Satan.
You can now ask me questions.
Hooray!
When I am with you, there is nowhere else I’d rather be. And I am a person who always wants to be somewhere else.David Levithan (via babe1101)
